Very nice Reel
I had a spare rod lying around and bought this reel to make a set. Runcl makes decent fishing gear at great prices. It looks well made and it's very easy to spool line on. I put in 150m of 6lb fluorocarbon line that I also had on hand. The reel was packaged in a nice velvet cover, but it's not really velvet, but it does the trick to keep it safe. The reel itself seems pretty solidly built, no rattling noise if you shake it and the spinning is very smooth. The reverse brake works exceptionally well too, no play in the handle if you try to reverse it. So far I'm glad I bought it, it seems comparable to more expensive reels on the market. I'll update when I take it out fishing this weekend with some frogs that I also bought from the same seller. Hopefully I'll get a chance to take a picture of some fish to post.
Great reel for the price ... perfect size for surf / pier fishing
TITAN I 2000
Reel is lightweight. Sturdy and the handle grip is very easy to use.
Happy !
TITAN I 4000
This reel is light but very solid. It's actually a little lighter than I expected. I'm not one to worry about how light a reel is. I'm not a wimp and a little weight to a reel has never bothered me as long as the reel was studied. This one, to my surprise, is both...I won't argue with that.
The casts and retrieves are smooth as silk, which I'm guessing is due to the number of bearings they loaded into this thing. I'm not going to complain about that either. Today I used a RUNCL frog, which I normally use with my bait-caster, and cast a good distance even with the evening breeze picking up.
The rod handle is made of the same material as my rod, so it's not likely to slip if it gets wet.
The carbon fiber drag discs impressed me, as did the 44lb total drag. Now, a 44lb drag is probably overkill for this size of reel, but it does give this reel some versatility that I couldn't find in other reels I looked at. While I bought it primarily for bass and trout fishing, it would allow me to cast it on a heavier rod and do some cat-fishing if I wanted to...and I might.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I uploaded some photos of the late afternoon fishing I did today. I didn't shoot in, although I did get a few great hits on this frog, but that's the fault of the angler, not the equipment. 😉
